Processing Clerk

BASIC JOB FUNCTION: Performs a variety of clerical duties, such as sorting and filing, copying, and scanning.  Processing Clerk is responsible for creating, organizing, and maintaining auto loan files.   Job Duties:
  •  Add new material to file records
  • Create new files as necessary
  • Scan and photocopy files as requested
  • Perform general office duties such as typing, operating office machines, and sorting mail.
  • Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order.
  • Place materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.
  • Assign and record or stamp identification numbers or codes in order to index materials for filing.
  • Answer questions about records and files.
  • Perform periodic inspections of materials or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition.
  • Eliminate outdated or unnecessary materials, destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance guidelines and/or legal requirements.

  • Ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
  • Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required
  • Keyboarding skills and ability to multi-task
  • Basic computer skills, including, but not limited to, Windows and the Internet
Physical Requirements
  •  Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Employee is regularly required to sit, climb or balance
  • Employee frequently stands, walks, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
  Work Environment
  • Normal office environment working under fluorescent light source.
